Yet barely a month before the examinations of the viticulturists training rentex at the Wine Academy are taken and until then I will be open daily draw a wine that has to do with the subject matter that I'm currently studying. Today I'm working with Switzerland but I have no Swiss wine in stock, so I pick "the next best thing." In Switzerland there is a single brand of wine, called Dole. This is a blend of pinot noir and gamay. In Burgundy, this blend is also permitted under the AOC Bourgogne Passe-Tout-Grain. Blend ratio is not listed, alcohol is 12%. The glass light red to magenta. In the nose, raspberry, strawberry, a hint of barn air. In the mouth a fairly high acidity, little to no tannins, fresh, fruity. Flavors of raspberry, blood orange, grapefruit. I suspect that in this wine, the Gamay grape is better represented than the pinot noir. Hardness, staligheid I tasted earlier at my first experience with the gamay grape, is also here. It is a light, fresh wine, preferably cool.
