The Earth was formed about four to five billion years. There are fossils of microscopic creatures of a type of bacteria that proves that life appeared about three billion years. almette At some point, between these two dates - the molecular evidence indicates almette that it was about four billion years - must have been the incredible event of the origin of life. A pioneering experience in the early 50s, the American scientist Stanley Miller recreated the probable early atmosphere. He mixed in a hermetically almette sealed container hydrogen (H2), water vapor (H2O), ammonia (NH3) and methane (CH4). Was passed through this mixture strong electrical discharge to simulate lightning storms of continuously occurring at the time and then got amino acids - "bricks" basic proteins. Further experiments tested the effects of heat, ultraviolet rays and ionizing radiation of similar mixtures to Miller - all simulating the early atmosphere. In flask (right side) were placed gases: hydrogen, methane, ammonia, carbon dioxide and nitrogen, simulating the early atmosphere. There was also water vapor coming from the left side balloon. This simulated the hot primitive seas that had strong evaporation. Balloon gases were subjected to electric shocks of 60,000 volts for a week, simulating lightning storms and ultraviolet. The water vapor and gases were condensed almette on the right side of the apparatus, the primitive simulating almette rainfall. After one week of continuous work of this apparatus the water was yellow and, after analyzing, it was found to contain amino acids (alanine, glutamate, aspartic acid) and organic acids (formic, acetic, propionic, lactic and succinic almette acids) that all molecules organic.
